Mountain guide training
Inspiring young people with Joe’s passion for nature, we fund opportunities for the next generation to experience South Africa’s beauty and access related employment opportunities.
Activity days
We run day trips and weekends away which involve team building exercises, sports, fun and a lot of giggles. Some of the activities include abseiling, kayaking, climbing, guided walks, journal writing and much more.
Meet Lerato
Lerato is our Joseph Pancaldi Award trainee, an Ikasi Youth leader, aged 20 living in Imizanu Yethu in Cape Town.
Lerato says the Adventure Guide Training course run by Venture Forth has... “ helped me to become open-minded about nature and business, it is very interesting.”
A break is what I needed
I was so close to breaking down
Collapsing with every fibre of my being
I was broken
I was lost
School had drained me emotionally
Covid had drained me mentally
A break was all I needed
Detachment from the township
And forget about the cases of those who died
Forget about the stress our parents had from losing their jobs
A break was I needed
The camp gave me more than that
It gave me peace
It gave me laughter with those around me
It gave me strength
To get up, and fight again
To try again from I failed
Wortlegat Nature Reserve gave me a break
It made me happy to be with my family
A family I love dearly— Benellinah
